Hot Cocoa Mug Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Hidden Foods hot cocoa mix

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon oil (vegetable, canola, or melted butter)

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder

  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Choose your mug:
    Use a microwave-safe mug (8–12 oz) to ensure the cake has room to rise as it cooks.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients:
    Add the hot cocoa mix, flour, and baking powder to the mug. Stir with a fork until fully combined.

  3. Add the wet ingredients:
    Pour in the oil and milk. Mix again until a smooth batter forms, making sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the mug.

  4. Microwave:
    Microwave on high for 60–70 seconds.
    The cake should rise and look set on top but still be soft and moist inside. Avoid overcooking—it can become dry quickly.

  5. Top and enjoy:
    Let it cool for 1 minute, then finish with whipped cream, marshmallows, or any toppings you love.
