Choose your mug:
Use a microwave-safe mug (8–12 oz) to ensure the cake has room to rise as it cooks. -
Mix the dry ingredients:
Add the hot cocoa mix, flour, and baking powder to the mug. Stir with a fork until fully combined. -
Add the wet ingredients:
Pour in the oil and milk. Mix again until a smooth batter forms, making sure to scrape the bottom and sides of the mug. -
Microwave:
Microwave on high for 60–70 seconds.
The cake should rise and look set on top but still be soft and moist inside. Avoid overcooking—it can become dry quickly. -
Top and enjoy:
Let it cool for 1 minute, then finish with whipped cream, marshmallows, or any toppings you love.
