Hot Cocoa Cookies

Ingredients

Use your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and simply adjust the dry ingredients:

  • Cookie dough base (butter, sugar, egg, etc. from your preferred recipe)

  • Replace ¼ cup of the flour with ¼ cup Hidden Foods hot cocoa mix

  • Optional add-ins: mini marshmallows, chocolate chunks, or extra chips


Instructions

  1. Prepare your cookie dough:
    Make your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough as usual but stop before adding the dry ingredients.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, measure the flour for your recipe and remove ¼ cup.
    Replace that amount with ¼ cup hot cocoa mix and whisk to combine.
    This adds chocolate flavor and keeps the dough texture balanced.

  3. Combine wet and dry:
    Stir the dry mixture into the butter-sugar-egg mixture until a soft dough forms.
    Fold in chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, or marshmallows if you want a s’mores-style cookie.

  4. Scoop and shape:
    Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
    For gooey marshmallow centers, tuck 1–2 mini marshmallows inside each dough ball.

  5. Bake:
    Bake according to your cookie recipe’s instructions—usually 350°F for 9–12 minutes—until edges are set and centers are soft.

  6. Cool and enjoy:
    Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a rack. Marshmallows will be melty and delicious.
